The London Metal Exchange (LME) has confirmed its participation in a programme of plastics industry conferences, staged by ICIS, to support the introduction of major changes to its futures contracts for polypropylene (PP) and linear low density polyethylene (LL), announced on 5 February 2007.
At each event the Exchange will deliver a session outlining details of the new regional contracts and the additional prompt dates, both being introduced on 25 June 2007. In addition, each event will feature an LME pricing review and analysis presentation, plus a half-day hedging workshop on plastics futures trading, both delivered by an LME member firm.
The half-day workshops will help the plastics industry to understand how hedging can help organisations to better manage their polymer price risk, and therefore better predict costs, and profits.
