This course features a presentation on the economic frameworks commonly used for industrial analysis, the collation of raw data such as GDP, trade flow and metal stocks, building a supply/demand model and recent case studies.
Macroeconomic data - GDP, interest rates, opportunity costs, trade/investment finance
Microeconomic data - Costs of production, fixed vs. variable costs
Geological and political data
Prerequisites
No previous knowledge of the subject is required. A basic understanding of the LME market, or commodities markets in general, would be helpful, but is not essential although knowledge of futures terminology is desirable.
