The LME Steel Billet contract is one year old and, responding to growing demand, the LME is holding a two day Steel futures training course. The steel industry has experienced high levels of price volatility in the last year and this course is designed to provide an in-depth overview of the Exchange and the services it provides, as well as, on day 2, a practical hedging workshop which focuses on the value that these new contracts can add to the Steel business.
The seminars will demonstrate how, by bringing transparency to physical pricing and offering a forum for futures hedging, the LME Steel billet contract allows industry participants to manage price risk.
