Trading specifications

Delivery dates Daily from cash to 3 months (first prompt date two working days from cash) . Then every Wednesday from 3 months to 6 months. Then every third Wednesday from 7 months out to 15 months

Material is stored on warrant within one of the global network of approved storage facilities for LME Steel Billet

Brands
All steel billet delivered must be brands named in the LME-approved list.

Quality
From 1 February 2011 warrants created under the LME Steel Billet contract must conform to one of the nine grades listed below, however producers are not expected to specifically reference the LME grades on any documentation.

Warrants created up until 23 March 2011 may comply with earlier physical specifications and may remain on warrant after this date.

Dimensions
Steel billet delivered must conform to one of the following lengths and dimensions:

  • All lengths are to be in 100mm increments within the stated range and subject to a +/- 100mm tolerance or a +/- 4 inch tolerance

Each lot shall be made up from one size, length, brand and grade only.
