Fabian Somerville-Cotton Fabian Somerville-Cotton started his City career with Drexel Burnham Lambert as a runner on the LIFFE floor in 1989. In 1990, he moved to Chase Manhattan becoming a Blue Button trading Short Sterling and Gilts. He moved to FIMAT in 1992 as a Senior Broker in the UK Interest Rate Markets jointly responsible for the build of FIMAT's LIFFE Floor team.Fabian joined Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (then Kleinwort Benson) in 1994 as Deputy Floor Manager. In 1999 Fabian joined DrKW's Foreign Exchange business, responsible for developing & distributing DrKW's proprietary online FX dealing system. In 2001, Fabian returned to Exchange Traded Derivatives to lead the group's electronic trading capabilities including the launch of LME electronic market access.The first time LME had been accessible to non-members In May 2005, Fabian was named Head of Listed Products at DrKW and in December 2005 Head of Prime Brokerage Products. In 2009 DrKW was sold to Commerzbank with the Prime Brokerage, LME brokerage and LME financing business being closed. Fabian joined HSBC in January 2010 as Managing Director, and leads the Base Metals business for HSBC.. |
