Richard Laing Richard Laing recently retired as Chief Executive of CDC Group plc, which invests its resources of approximately £3 billion in emerging markets. He is also a trustee of Plan UK, the international children’s charity, and of the Overseas Development Institute, an international think-tank.Prior to CDC he spent 15 years at De La Rue plc where he held a number of posts both overseas and in the UK, latterly as Group Finance Director. He was also a non-executive director of Camelot, the operator of the UK national lottery. He previously worked in agribusiness in emerging markets, and at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Marks & Spencer. He has a degree in Engineering from Cambridge University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. |
