The LME aims to support initiatives that create effective and lasting benefits in society. We hope to achieve this through our corporate philanthropy, by establishing community partnerships and mobilising our employees to participate in volunteer work.
In 2019, the LME partnered with a new charity, The Connection, a homelessness charity located in the centre of London, which works with approximately 4,000 homeless people every year to move away from, and stay off the streets of London. As well as assisting with fundraising for the charity, through sponsored sporting feats and challenges, LME staff can volunteer in a number of ways. For example, our staff can help those looking to gain economic independence through employment by providing mock interviews and advice on CV writing and presentation skills.
The LME has long been a big supporter of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which every year works with the financial sector to raise funds for selected charities.
The LME takes part in City Giving Day, which was created by the Lord Mayor’s Appeal to unite the City in raising funds and awareness for their chosen charities.
In the lead-up to and on City Giving Day, the Lord Mayor champions the charity and community activities that companies and organisations undertake to support society.
The LME supports Futures for Kids, a charity launched in February 2008 by a group of people in the futures industry in Europe to raise funds for children’s charities around the world.
FFK’s fundraising events not only help the charity to reach its targeted audiences, but are also a great way for organisations such as the LME to get involved.
