The London Metal Exchange (LME) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Dentoom as Non-Executive Director of the Board.

A highly respected industry executive, Nigel brings with him 40 years of experience in the metals sector – spanning both the financial and physical markets. Nigel most recently served as CEO and subsequently Non-Executive Director of the LME Ring dealing member CCBI/Metdist, before assuming his current role as CEO of Metdist Enterprises Ltd. Prior to this he was Executive Chairman of LN Metals International Ltd for 10 years, following a 20-year career at The Mocatta Group, where he served as CEO for a number of years.

Nigel has served on the boards of over 30 companies – principally in the metals, derivatives and commodities sectors – in executive, non-executive and chair capacities. He has also held a number of LME advisory committee positions over the last 30 years including as Chairman of the LME Ring Dealers Committee and serving on the LME User Committee for nine years until 2021. Nigel currently sits on the Board of the US Copper Club.

Commenting on his appointment, Nigel said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as an LME Board Non-Executive Director. The LME is vital to the proper functioning of the global metals markets and I look forward to utilising my experience and knowledge of the physical and financial markets to deliver value to the Exchange and to the wider LME community.”
