MiFID II and MiFIR introduce new obligations for LME market data publication.
For each trading day, the LME publishes Reference Data detailing the tradeable instruments that are available to trade on the LME, including the ISINs associated with each instrument. The Tradeable Instrument File (TIF) is published at 00.50 and 21.00 London Time daily. For more information and the specifications visit our MiFID documents page.
LME Member firms should contact their LME Relationship or Technical Account Manager regarding access to the TIF. For any other interested parties, access to the TIF can be requested via the Online Licensing Portal and selecting ‘MiFID II Data Services’.
Pre-Trade Transparency Data
As prescribed by MiFID II / MiFIR, the LME publishes real-time order data (bids/offers) for all available LME tradable instruments via its market data feed. Licensed real-time LME data distributors are permitted to provide subscribers with access to real-time pre-trade data as a standalone data package upon request. Please contact your data provider for more information.
The LME also makes this information available free of charge on a 15 minutes delayed basis via an XML feed. For more information and to register for this service, please visit the Online Licensing Portal.
Post-Trade Transparency Data
As prescribed by MiFID II / MiFIR, the LME publishes as close to real-time as possible, the details of transactions conducted on LME trading venues for all available LME tradable instruments in XML file format, via sFTP download.
This service is currently free of charge for limited internal use until further notice. For more information and to register for this service, please visit the Online Licensing Portal.
Access to Free of Charge Data
Firms can register to access the TIF ( including ISINs) and Post-Trade Transparency Data (sFTP service) and the 15 minutes delayed Pre-Trade Transparency Data (XML feed) on the Online Licensing Portal under ‘MiFID II Data Services’. Use of this data is for internal information purposes only.
