The London Metal Exchange (LME) is embarking on a programme of work to fully rebuild its electronic trading platform, LMEselect.
Part of a wider piece to refresh our trading infrastructure, the key outputs will be:
- An all-new and fully rebuilt LMEselect
- A new GUI, LMEtrader, for trading and administrative functions
- New FIX and binary interfaces
- An associated upgrade of LMEsource.
Our aim is to improve the LME’s electronic markets and better meet the evolving needs of the physical metals and financial trading communities.
The programme of work is designed to make the new trading platform (LMEselect v10) more performant and more accessible. We are adding more functionality and an all-new onscreen options market – all on state-of-the-art and scalable technology.
We are also building a new web-based GUI, LMEtrader, and standardising our market data offering.
A version of LMEtrader is now available and running in parallel on the current trading platform, LMEselect v9.4, allowing users to become familiar with the new features prior to the go-live of LMEselect v10. LMEtrader GUI on LMEselect v10 will be available soon for testing.
