LME contracts may only be offered or sold to United States foreign futures and options customers by firms registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), or firms who are permitted to solicit and accept money from foreign futures and options customers from trading on the LME pursuant to CFTC Rule 30.10.

In the case of unresolved disputes, arbitration is effected via the LME arbitration procedure, and/or by other body agreed by the parties.

Average prices

A summary of official and average prices for the previous month are published by close of business (London time) on the first business day of each month. Reports are available free for the current calendar year and can be purchased for previous years.


Monthly volume reports demonstrate the substantial number of contracts traded on the Exchange each month. A report for the previous month is published in Excel format within the first seven business days of each month.  


A summary of daily stocks levels for the previous month are published within the first seven business days of the following month.
