The LME regrets to inform the market of the cancellation of all LME-hosted events during LME Week 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These events include the LME Metals Seminar, the LME China Seminar, the Chairman's Reception, the China Reception, the LME Annual Dinner and the LME Focus Day. In the interest of ensuring the safety of all attendees from across the metals industry, the LME has made the difficult decision that none of these events will be able to safely take place in 2020.

Save the date for the LME Metals Seminar - Virtual.
In light of COVID-19, we will be running the seminar virtually this year. The seminar will be a discussion forum for high-profile speakers to share views on hot topics facing the market today and their outlook for the metals industry. As always, the seminar is also your opportunity to hear the latest from the LME and network with your peers and colleagues in the industry.
LME Week is the annual gathering of the global metals community in London. Representatives from the entire supply chain meet to discuss current trends in metals markets, what to expect for the year ahead, and to network with industry peers and colleagues.
LME Week is not limited to LME-hosted events, and many other members and stakeholders host events during the week. Decisions on these events will be made by their respective organisers. The Exchange confirms that, provided organisers are able to adhere to relevant government or other guidance and safety measures that are expected of such events at that time (as well as the LME Code of Conduct), it has no objections to the continuation of these events under the “LME Week 2020” banner. That said, the Exchange fully understands that many organisers will reach the same determination as the LME, and cancel their events for 2020. Attendees of events not hosted by the LME should check with the organisers of such events to ensure that they have not been cancelled or postponed.
LME Week is hugely important for the global metals industry and the LME sincerely hopes that its members, clients and stakeholders continue to find ways to connect and do business during this challenging time. The Exchange looks forward to the market coming back together in October 2021.
