MiFID II and MiFIR introduce new obligations for LME market data publication.
Reference data
For each trading day, the LME publishes reference data detailing the tradeable instruments that are available to trade on the LME, including the ISINs associated with each instrument. The tradeable instrument file (TIF) is published at 00.50 and 21.00 London time daily.
LME member firms should contact their LME relationship or technical account manager regarding access to the TIF. For any other interested parties, access to the TIF can be requested via the online licensing portal by selecting "MiFID II Data Services".
Pre-trade transparency data
As prescribed by MiFID II / MiFIR, the LME publishes real-time order data (bids/offers) for all available LME tradeable instruments via its market data feed. Licensed real-time LME data distributors are permitted to provide subscribers with access to real-time pre-trade data as a standalone data package upon request. Please contact your data provider for more information.
The LME also makes this information available free of charge on a 15 minutes delayed basis via an XML feed. For more information please review our developer guide (PDF) and to register for this service, please visit the online licensing portal.
Post-trade transparency data
As prescribed by MiFID II / MiFIR, the LME publishes as close to real-time as possible, the details of transactions conducted on LME trading venues for all available LME tradeable instruments in XML file format, via sFTP download.
This service is currently free of charge for limited internal use until further notice. For more information and to register for this service, please visit the online licensing portal.
