What is the HKEX-LME Metal Distribution Licence?
The HKEX-LME Metal Distribution Licence enables the distribution of real-time Level 1 LME data to eligible end users via a display application. This initiative supports HKEX’s strategic vision of:
- Connecting China and the World
- Connecting Capital with Opportunities
- Connecting Today with Tomorrow
Who is it for?
This licence is available to:
- Real-time Information Vendors of HKEX Information Services (China) Limited (HKEX-IS (China)), or
- Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) Participants
End users must be individuals holding a Resident Identity Card of Mainland China or Hong Kong SAR.
How much does it cost?
Licence and registration fees are waived until the end of 2028.
If any reporting is required under this licence?
Monthly reporting is required to capture the total number of subscribers.
How do I apply?
Application for a HKEX-LME Metal Distribution Licence can be complete via the Online Licensing Portal (OLP). The LME will aim to review your application within 6 weeks of receipt of your submitted order. Please note that this review period may be extended where applicants have not provided all the information requested.
